FSU Shaw Building Renovation

This project includes renovation of existing office building at Innovation Park for re-use by Applied Superconductivity Center. The work included wet and dry labs, microscope and magnet facilities, and offices for new research group.

Phase 1 renovated 70% of the building and added an air cooled chiller, gas-fired condensing boilers, fume exhaust systems, VRV laboratory systems, process chilled water and an electrical service upgrade. Four SEM labs were designed for ultra-low noise and vibration, along with extremely stable HVAC.

Phase 2 renovates the remaining 30% of the building and replaces the remaining DX HVAC equipment with VAV systems connected to the existing chillers. This second phase is being accomplished with the building occupied, adding four wet labs as well as dry labs and office space.

Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 were accomplished using the Design Build process.
