FSU Johnston Annex & Academic Support

The Johnston Annex and Academic Support Building project is a proposed 35,000 gross square foot dining and academic support facility located on the east side of campus, on the site of the existing Regional Rehabilitation Building. The site is located to the east of Landis Green and to the north of the existing William H. Johnston Building and Suwannee Dining Hall. The facility supplements academic space in the William H. Johnston Building Remodeling and Expansion project and included improvements to the site.

The facility includes three food service venues, including: Chick-Fil-A, Rising Roll and a venue to be determined; and, a convenience store – all on the first floor. These venues are operated by ARAMARK, who – with Business Services – will serve as the User Group for this portion of the project. The second and third floors consist academic support space.

Moses Engineering served as the 3rd party commissioning agent on this project. Moses Engineering provided overall direction of the commissioning process during the design, construction, and post construction phase. A final report was developed to document the Cx process and results. A systems manual was developed to assist the facility management staff with regard to maintenance and re-testing efforts.

Moses Engineering commissioned the following systems:

  • HVAC systems (including all supply, exhaust, chilled water, heating, and control elements)
  • Domestic hot water system
  • Steam system used for hot water production
  • Lighting and Lighting Controls
  • Energy Recovery Systems
  • Post occupancy inspection services
